My son just had his 1st birthday last month and out of all the birthday theme characters, I chose the Monster University one as I really love the color combination of blue and green and especially of course the main characters, Sulley and Mike. =)
For those who are planning to have this kind of theme for their kid's birthday especially for 1st birthday party, I'll be glad to share some ideas which mostly I got online. These stuff I personally made at home while some were bought from the stores.
To start with, these were the stuff I had made personally at home! :)
1. Birthday hats - these were so cute! Got the background online then placed a photo of Mike and Sulley on the center to match the theme. Just make a fan shape design, cut-along to make a cone shape and paste both ends then just insert a string on both sides.
2. Banderitas (Small Flags) - for these ones, I got the Monster University flag designs online and then, I just personalized one to place my baby's photos.
3. Birthday Gift Bags - for these ones, I bought plain white medium size paper bags then painted them with blue and green all over and just put on personalized Mike and Sulley faces. It will be great if you can find ones that are of plain blue and green background already.
My daughter helped me made them :)
4. Loot bags - I found this printable online and it's really cute! Just cut along, paste on all sides and put strings both sides on top.
5. Center Flags - just cut out triangle sized papers in blue and white then paste the Monster University logo in the middle and put a stick. I have covered the stick with blue and white paper strips to make it more nicer!
I love all these stuff! I love Monster University! =)
The rest I bought them from a shop who just happened to closed but luckily have some left-over Monster University birthday party stuff like the table covers, party plates and cups same with the napkins, and especially that Mike party pinata which even served as a party decor, too!
Like this big Mike piƱata
I was also lucky to find Mike headrests from another shop which were used as wall designs and also a Sulley character toy for the photo booth props. The rest, I just added few more other stuff like the party lanterns, some were from my my Sister-in-Law who also happened to be the decorator of the party venue. These lanterns really made a stand out on our photo booth section. It was beautiful!
And to share, these were the photos...
This section is for the kids only
The birthday cake table
This section for Mum and Dad, friends and relatives, same with the games and dance presentations
The buffet table and drinks station were perfectly placed outside the function room (lobby) which also had a receiving area for guests
And by the way, let me also share with you my son's cute Monster University costume.
Hi there! Just had my 1st birthday party... :)
I had so much fun! =)
And by the way, baby photo books are great to place on tables for early comers while waiting for other guests or birthday party to start. It's so wonderful to share your baby's cute photos! Mine were a collection of milestones from birth to 1 year. These were the month by month birthday celebration photos, his very firsts (bathing, sitting, thumb sucking, park visit, tummy time, first rubber shoes worn, etc..) I had so much fun compiling these photo books and I love every moment! =)
If you're planning to have this Monster University theme on your kid's birthday and need some ideas, just feel free to leave a comment and I will be glad to help.
Hope you all like it! =)
