The Contented Little Baby

Wow! Baby Moses just turned 11 weeks yesterday and in a few days time he will be 3 months.

Thanks be to God that up to this time, he is still on exclusive breastfeeding. I feel so fulfilled given the chance to be able to do so, especially knowing that it's the best for every baby, the best feeding for them.

So far, baby don't have any gassy issues and never did had one ever since he was born, I am so thankful. Maybe that is one of the benefits of breastfeeding though I've read that still for some babies, they still do.

Added, he's a very calm baby. Seldom that he'll get fussy, that is only when is hungry or needs a nappy change. Other than that no issues at all. Still sleeps for long straight hours so I always ended up having complete hours of sleep. Just at times I need to check his nappy but afterwards I always able to catch up. At daytime, so light to take care of. When awake, just in good mood while lying in bed, enjoys a talk and lately he's fond of watching tv already.

Added, baby Moses had learned to smile so well. Just every time he wakes up and he sees my face, his Dad or elder sister Amber, for sure he'll give us a smile, such a happy baby! He loves it especially when we talk with him or sing him a song.

He also loves to explore his little fingers lately and thumb-sucking was his favorite habit for the past days. :)

His first words were "ahmaaaa", "ummm", "dededede" then comes "ah", "toh" lately. He's cute when he sighs after he drinks water from having hiccups, it's like telling me, "Wow, what a relief Mom!" :)

Still, I'll always say days go by prettily quick, and yes it is as I know sooner or later, my baby will start to crawl, sit, stand and walk.

But for now, I'll just be enjoying every moment of his smiles, giggles and coos.

Happy & Healthy Baby

Thanks be to God that my little one turned 2 months old last January 4th. It was just like yesterday when I gave birth and now two months had already passed. Really babies grow prettily quick.

Recently, baby Moses learned to smile and coos every time we talk with him. His big sister Amber really loves talking and playing with him and would giggle every time he smiled back at her. Such a wonderful moment, I love watching both of them. :)

This morning, just had his monthly check-up. The nurse told us that he is a big baby after she measured his length and head circumference. About his weight, last month weighs 4.7 kgs. and now he is weighing at 5.93 kgs in which he gained 1.2 kgs in just a month only by exclusive breastfeeding. That just means that my milk supply is already well established and enough to feed him. I was told to continue giving him breastmilk only, good that I did not not supplement him any formulas and that by six months only that he will then be introduce to cereals.

At the same time, he also had his vaccines this morning. Both first dose for DTAP and Pneumococcal.

Still most of the day, baby is only sleeping and still had managed to sleep straight through the night until now. Maybe that is the reason why he is gaining more weight and measures bigger his age. Also, I breastfed him more often. He feels hungry in less than 2 hours by day while during night time it takes around 3-4 hours.

I am glad that he had regular bowel movements like every 2 hours or less he poos. I was told that it's because breastmilk is like a laxative so he passes his bowels more often. Though there is this one time incident that in 4 straight days he had no regular bowel movements, just tiny ones every time he passed gas. I was a bit worried but then read on the net that it is normal as long as he has regular wet nappies and is not fussy and that it is not one week long. After that 4 days, he passed a lot of poopoos afterwards. :)

I am also happy that my little one never had any gassy problems maybe because he was being fed by breastmilk alone. Lately, have been having some colds especially this rough cough, glad that he was just fine. I have read that it is ok to continue breastfeeding him as breastmilk have antibodies, maybe that is why.

I thank God for being given the opportunity to be able to breastfeed my little one. Not all are given the chance, I feel so blessed to be able to do so.

I will continue to breastfeed baby Moses as long as I can. Whatever is good and healthy for him, will always be willing to contribute. As his Mom, will always do what is best and will always give him my unconditional love.

Thanks be to God!
